It was a privilege to speak with Dr. Nancy Sherman in the most recent Stoa Conversation.
Dr. Nancy Sherman has written several books, covering Aristotle, Stoicism, and post-traumatic stress, and moral injury. She's taught at Yale, the U.S. Naval Academy, and, now, Georgetown University.
Her most recent book is Stoic Wisdom: Ancient Lessons for Modern Resilience – it's an excellent work for Stoic beginners and practitioners alike.
In this conversation, we cover the place of vulnerability in Stoicism, the nature of emotion, and moral heroes.
This is one of my favorite interviews of the year – I hope you enjoy and learn from it.
