Adapt. Adapt.
Not being able to govern events, I govern myself, and if they will not adapt to me, I adapt to them.
Montaigne
Adapt the world to you first. If that doesn't work, adapt to the world.

What do we do? See the world as it is, utilize sound judgement and reason. Focus on the good and the virtuous. Be a model friend, parent, and citizen. The same as before.

Adapt yourself to the circumstances you have drawn; and the men among whom your lot has fallen, love them, and truly.
Marcus Aurelius
